Amy Narishkin, Vice President and Marketing Manager
Amy's passion for water began as a little girl with body surfing, motor boating, and water skiing in the Atlantic off Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. When they met in college in Boston, Amy began sailing and kayaking with Cyril. Sixteen years ago, Amy and Cyril bought their first kayak to take their toddlers out past the surf to watch the dolphins at Hilton Head. In 2000, Amy and Cyril bought their MacGregor 26 (trailerable sail boat) for sailing with their kids. Most weekends you'll find the Narishkin on their MacGregor at Carlyle Lake in Illinois. They've also trailed their MacGregor to Traverse Bay, Michigan, Table Rock Lake, Kentucky Lake, Alton Pool, Greer's Ferry, Arkansas, and Hilton Head.
Beside sailing and boating, Amy supports St. Louis area teacher education and professional development. Since 2001 she has been an adjunct and visiting professor teaching methods courses at UM-St. Louis, Webster University, Harris Stowe State University, and Fontbonne University. While at UM-St. Louis, Amy completed her PhD in adult education with a focus on beginning teacher support. Amy loves to work with school leaders to facilitate the development of a collaborative school community that grows teacher networks and supports student achievement. Having lived in Mexico and directed the Colegio Americano de Aguascalientes (PreK-6 bilingual school), Amy is also interested in helping schools develop inquiry-based foreign language programs.
